I won! I’m Money Blogger of the year!

Can you believe it? Because I can’t!

My little blog isn’t even a year old, so when I found out I was shortlisted for the UK Money Bloggers Money Blogger of the Year award, I didn’t think I had a chance in hell of winning.

The SHO-MO awards, which celebrate the best in UK money blogging had 12 awards to hand out, and I was initially shortlisted for two – Best new blog and Best money making blog. Then on holiday in Berlin I found out I was also shortlisted for the top award – Money Blogger of the year – with Emma from Aldi to Harrods and Ricky from Skint Dad – two incredible and well established blogs.

So wandering around Berlin without WIFI all day, I finally get connected and noticed I had about 60 tweet mentions so thought something must be up. And yep, I was Money Blogger of the year – chosen by journalists and PRs in the financial industry. The best of the best – ARE YOU KIDDING?! I had to read it a few times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.

So what now?

I’m not too sure, but plan to spend a lot more time on my blog. If I can win this doing a few hours a week, I can’t help but wonder what it would be like if I spend really committed to it.

I am very proud of it but it isn’t where I want it to be yet. I want to add so much more content, but haven’t been able to find the time – which I fully intend to change. In fact, there are two books I plan on writing as well. The next year is going to be huge for Lotty Earns!

Thank you!

There are loads of people I need to thank. First off, you. The fact you read this and follow me on Twitter/Facebook etc just blows my mind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my ramblings, I hope its helped you save a bit of cash (or at least got you cheap wine).

Kate and Mark – Thanks for convincing me over beef noodles to set this up. You pushed me into it after a year of ummming and ahhhing. You guys believed in me before I did.

Sam – Thanks for designing my site for me and thank god he did, because I am rubbish at anything technical. He managed to figure out what I wanted when I had no clue. The site looks amazing and your support has been and still is invaluable. If you have a blog (or are thinking of setting one up) and want someone amazing to help out, totally check him out. You can contact him here – [email protected]

Adam – Thank you for helping me out with all the technical bits I can’t handle, for looking after my server and calming me down when my site crashes because of ridiculous amounts of traffic at random times.

The UK Money Bloggers network – Meeting you guys last year was incredible and the advice and support has been life changing.

Harry and my family – For the unbelievable amount of belief you have in me. Love you.
